"What kind of thing?" Skystar asked. The tabby apprentice took another step forward and raised his head. "Like...rouge," he said, his eyes widening in alarm. Skystar sniffed the air for herself. Definetly rouge. "It leads over here," Redstorm said, padding towards an oak tree. The rest of the cats followed. The trail ended right next to the tree.
"What does it mean?" Dawnpaw asked.
"It means that a rouge was here, or slept here at least," Dovefeather mused.
"So what do we do?" asked Notchpaw. "We keep on the lookout," Skystar answered. "And we tell the rest of the clan. Come, we'll go back right now." The cats turned tail and started to bound back to camp.

The purple-eyed tabby groaned and rolled over. She was in a warm cave, light coming from the tunnel entrance. "What-?" she managed to croak out.
"Hush, and lie still," a voice quieted her. She looked up to see the brown and white cat from before. He was at the other side of the den, moving something around with his paws.
"What happened?", the she-cat asked.
"What is your name?"
"Excuse me?"
"You heard me. What is you name?" the tom turned to look at her, his one yellow eye inquisitive.
The she-cat swallowed. "I'll tell you my name if you tell me yours," she challenged. The brown and white tom let out a combination between a laugh and a cough. "It's been a while since I saw such spunk," he said. "My name is Shift."
"Amethyst," the she-cat answered. "Now, will you tell me what in StarClan am I doing here?!"
Shift lashed his tail. "This is my den. I am what Clan cats call a medicine cat. You were tortured by Flare for information about-"
"Wait, back up. I'm in a Clan?!"
Shift fixed her with his piercing stare. "I didn't say that."
