New Apprentice

Skystar jumped up onto the Center Stone and called for attention, "All cats old enough to catch their prey gather underneath the Center Stone!" Cats bounded from the corners of the camp and sat looking up at their leader. A black she-cat with one white paw sat under the Center Stone, her tail twitching back and forth.

"Everyone, please welcome Sunpaw!" Skystar yowled. "She is a new apprentice, and she will of course need a mentor. Whisperfur!" The quiet gray she-cat looked up, startled. "You will mentor Sunpaw," Skystar said, smiling. "Teach her your stealth and compassion." Whisperfur got up and touched noses with the excited Sunpaw.

Skystar smiled at her thriving clan and leaped down off of the Center Stone. She flicked her tail happily as she padded back into her den. I hope that giving Whisperfur an apprentice will help her to have more interactions with her clanmates, Skystar mused silently to herself as she settled down into her moss den.
